Our 5th Annual ECHO provided a wonderful evening for the many heroes of Paragon City. Hosting it in Galaxy City’s Gemini Park gave a warm sense of “returning to our RP beginnings” for many of us, and a beautiful natural setting.
Many thanks to DJ Templar and DJ Vangelus, who provided the usual flawless event-coverage of music and competition announcements, as well as terrific commentary throughout the evening. And thanks also to DJ Angel, our pre-event coordinator and a great help in setting everything up with CapeRadio.
The evening saw a lively three rounds of Paragon Hero-knowledge trivia questions, with Dory James and Lunar Eclipse quick to provide many of the correct answers. Participation in the Trivia contest was definitely entertaining, and it was great to how knowledgeable everyone the participants were.
We had some really creative participants for the "Back to Your Beginnings/Return to Your Origins” Costume Contest. The winners were:

Dr. Void
The "Daunt Hide-and-Go-Seek" competition was surprisingly short, thanks to the keen perceptions of our two winners, Psiduction and Dory James, who quickly (and simultaneously) discovered our Black-light clad Daunt’s hiding place directly beneath the heroic bosom of the Galaxy Girl statue. Fatare came in hot on their heels as well, for an honorable mention. We had 4 clues prepared, in case the search took the full 20 minutes, and were sad we only got to use the first, "Don’t Blink" (a "statue" reference, for all you Dr. Who fans.) The other three clues would have been: "Icon means more than where you change your costume," "Two is better than one," and "Our Daunt is with the most prominent set of twins in Paragon."
There was terrific RP all around throughout the evening, with a number of memorable contributions, including Impact Tower, Paragon City's Hero Super-baker, who graciously brought yummy RP baked goods for the party -- which in turn lead to some unexpected and entertaining "Cake" RP between Bookish and the Elysienne.
A big thank you to everyone who worked hard to make this another great ECHO, and to all our guests who helped contribute to the success of the evening. |

Just a reminder to everyone that our 5th Annual ECHO is tomorrow night, 6PM EST, so get set to dress up and gather tomorrow as the Dauntless Reverie prepares to party hearty with our fellow Heroes of Paragon. To set up for tomorrow's music, go to www.thecaperadio.com and click on either the "WinAmp" or "Windows Media Player" buttons at the top of their homepage, which should get you connected for listening tomorrow evening as DJ Templar and our own DJ Vangelus cover the ECHO festivities throughout the evening. A flyer has been found posted on light posts, trees, building walls, and business bulletin boards throughout Paragon City. An accompanying card, black with silver and gold finely printed text, is found in a holder close to the flyer. Heroes also may have received the card in the mail. The text of the card is below.
Heroes of Paragon City, What do an oil tanker in Talos Island, the underbelly of Brickstown, a country bridge in Croatoa, and a wooded glade in Perez Park all have in common? They have all played host to The Dauntless Reverie's yearly celebration of the coming of the Season of masks. With great pride, I present... The 5th Annual ECHO! So please, celebrate with us once again at ECHO as we "Return to your Origins - Back to Your Beginnings." Create an outfit reflecting your Hero/Heroine's beginnings and inspiration, and to remember in costume and stories how they have changed over the course of their career. There will be music graciously provided by The Cape Radio, a costume competition, trivia contests, doorprizes, dancing of course, good fellowship and fun. Festivities will commence at 6 o'clock in the evening on Saturday, the twentieth day of September. Please RSVP to @Rhianwen on your Paragon PDA, or visit our on-line RSVP form. I'm proud to announce that the Dauntless Reverie [AoC chapter] has come to a working alliance with the Ignoble Order. We are collaborating on various tasks which we would not be able to accomplish on our own, and sharing information about known corrupt individuals and groups that we may need to watch out for. The Ignoble Order shares many of the values that the Dauntless Reverie holds to, and we look forward to this relationship being a strong and beneficial one to both parties! |
